In today’s agricultural industry it is a widely accepted practice to use liquid organic plant food. Liquid organic plant food is used to cultivate the field and crop rows by farmers, winemakers use them for growing grapes and horticulturists use them to landscape their orchards and turfs. Liquid organic plant food is a safe and effective way to give your plants the best nutrients possible without harming them or adding to the soil’s acid content.

Liquid organic plant food works by effectively increasing the levels of nitrogen, phosphate and potassium in the soil. These are the three necessary substances to the growth of plants and therefore, liquid organic plant food provides an abundant food supply for the essential growth of plants. They are also important in helping the plants to overcome the tension of transplanting, cold weather and dry seasons. Liquid organic plant food also removes the risk of soil nutrient-deficiency since they help to enrich the soil.

Application

When applying liquid organic plant food that are two basic methods, either spraying or direct application to the soil around the plant. The most common method used is spraying since the plants can then take in the nutrients through their leaves and stems which allow the nutrients to be absorbed faster.

The direct application places the nutrients into the soil around the plant and still has the same nutritional components as spraying. The main different is that the liquid organic plant food direct application may waste nutrients like nitrogen and potash since they aren’t absorbed quickly by the plants.

Choices

There are several types of liquid organic plant food that you can find on the market. Fish emulsion is the most common that you find which is made from ground up and liquefied fish parts. This type of plant food has a high content level of nitrogen which is essential for plant growth. This type of plant food can be applied through the direct method and through spraying.

There is also liquid organic plant food that comes from earthworm castings. These play a large part in providing the soil with necessary minerals and vitamins that helps plants grow and now scientists are manufacturing earthworm-based liquid organic fertilizer.

Lastly there is bat guano and some manufacturers may even have a combination of fish meal, soybean protein extract, rock phosphate, bone ash, potassium carbonate, magnesium carbonate, sea kelp and humic acid. It is entirely up to the individual as to what kind of plant food you want to use since they all equally benefit your plants.
