The causes of heartburn can be uncomfortable or very painful. This problem could become serious if you choose to ignore it. So if you have it, do something about it before it reaches a more serious stage.

The primary cause of heartburn and acid reflux is diet. Your stomach will create more acid to cope with a bigger meal, than it would if you ate smaller meals. Try eating smaller meals but more often each day instead of eating larger meals.

The diet which you eat can make a big difference. Stay clear of foods which are high in acid. This can go a long way in giving you no more heartburn

This will mean reducing your intake of foods which are spicy. Foods that are high in fat and sugar. Putting more acid into your body will not help you, so stay clear of citrus fruits.

The key is to get your body into an alkaline state. You can achieve this by adding more vegetables to your daily meals. You should try eating more raw vegetables. If they can’t be eaten in a raw state, then you could try juicing them. The primary focus should be on dark leafy vegatables

Try adding vegetables such as cabbage, sprouts, carrots, brocolli, and green beans to your diet. These types of vegetables help your body to get into a less acidic state, and provide plenty of other health benefits. To help relieve the symptoms try ginger, as this can be very effective.

As a way of getting rid of acid reflux and heartburn pain, a lot of people use antacid treatments, but they will not be a long term solution to the problem. The relief that you will feel will only be temporaraly.

Foods which cause heartburn and acid relux need to be avoided at all costs. Eat smaller portions of meals. You may find your symptoms will ease if you do some exercise as well as changing your diet.
