The Modern Power Juicer and How To Buy The Best One

Buying a  juicer for the home can be quite confusing and mind boggling sometimes, considering the fact that there are a lot of them available these days. I first became aware of the the benefits of juicing after purchasing a Jack Lalanne Power Juicer. Many people often buy a juicer that is unsuitable for their needs. Before going out and buying one it is important to  understand your needs. To make the appropriate decision it is important to understand the salient points between the different juicers such as those for fruit and wheatgrass. I would advise writing a list of the main points you want before going out and shopping

There are a lot of different  juicers around in the shops. It can often be confusing trying to choose between a centrifugal juicer, a masticating machine, and a twin gear juicer. The most affordable machines are the centrifugal juicers which are the most commonly found in the stores. They operate at very high speeds and are  effective at processing fruit and vegetables. For  fibrous foods like spinach, wheatgrass and lettuce they are not really suitable. In order to prevent any of the juice going to waste it is frequently advised to purchase a single or twin blade machine. For these varieties, special kinds of juicers are available. The Miracle-mj 500 electric auger juicer is one of the kinds widely available in the shops today. They are cheaper and contain no aluminum parts, making them  easy to disassemble and operate. With Masticating juicers, the low speed units help produce high quality juice as a result of less oxidation.

I would recommend checking the warranty of any machine before purchasing. Most good juicers should offer between 5 to 10 years on the guarantee. Since the cutting blade wears out roughly after two to four months of use, proper checks should be performed before any buying. The output and efficiency of the machine will  be reflected by the  yield figures quoted on the machine. Ideally you want  less waste and more juice. Fruit juice can often be damaged by the oxidation from the heat from a higher power motor. I would advise looking for a machine with a power output of around 420 watts.

A branded machine such as the Jack lalanne Power Fruit Juicer is often a better investment than a non branded appliance. This is because, spares and replacement parts  are often easier to find.

An added benefit of the modern machines is that they can be used for other functions other than just juicing. Surprisingly, they can often be used to make a variety of products including ice cream, nut butters and pasta. These more modern appliances are really quite versatile.
