The majority of us never stop to think about where and how our conventionally produced meats come from. Since most of us are always in a hurry, when we go shopping for food, our primary concern is that we can have something to cook and to eat at home rarely thinking about the nutritional value of the things that we eat.

Unfortunately, our unhealthy practices may result to some negative consequences on our health. To make sure that we stay healthy and strong, we should start to pay close attention to the kind of food that we eat. Instead of buying those conventionally produced meat products, we should switch to organic meat.

Why organic meat? Some experts claim that the rise in the cases of cancer in the country could partly be blamed on the kind of food that we eat. Since the kind of food that we eat may affect our health, there are plenty of reasons why we should eat organic meat instead of the conventional produced meat. To give you some ideas why you should switch to organic meat, here are some insights for you.

No Added Growth Hormones

Organic meat products come from animals that were not been given growth hormones. Although there is not really enough study made on how growth hormones given to animals could affect human beings who eventually consume the meat of these animals, there are some findings that will lead us to believe that growth hormones given to farm animals could have some negative consequences on people especially young children.

Many studies do not discount the possibility that the growth hormones given to farm animals may have significantly altered the chemical composition of its meat. Since there is really no assurance that the effect of the growth hormones given to farm animals will not be passed on to the people who eventually consume its meat, the danger of ingesting growth hormones from non-organic meat is indeed a scary prospect. Note that too much growth hormone in the body can lead to endocrine disorders such as hypothyroidism and diabetes.

No Antibiotics And Genetically Modified Feeds

Organic meat products come from animals that have not been given antibiotics and genetically modified feeds. We all know that antibiotics can be beneficial in curing some forms of infections but when taken regularly, it can cause havoc in the human body and may cause serious forms of diseases. Since there is a possibility that eating meat of animals that have been subjected to does of antibiotics may have some harmful effects on the health of human beings, it is best to avoid eating meat coming from these animals.

Take a look around at society today, we are a product of what we eat. Why is obesity a global problem? Could it be that the entire western world is consuming processed foods that include genetically modified ingredience under chemically induced growing conditions, isn’t it better to go back to eating organic meat and vegetable products?
